"As with any relationship the one between horse/rider and trainer must "click" appropriately. If the trainer doesn't teach in the way the rider can learn or if the trainer has no respect for the rider's horse then you are setting yourself up for failure.
I found my current horse in January of this year and was searching for a new trainer. Hilary's ad caught my eye and the rest is history. Midas had absolutely no dressage/English training what-so-ever and after 2 lessons with Hilary we went into a schooling show. (and we both survived) Since then Midas and I have come far and I am thrilled to have Hilary in our corner. I have great faith in her teaching methods and like the fact that she had no reservation on hopping on Midas and giving him some serious schooling which he desperately needed. Thanks Hilary!"

"We never thought we'd find a trainer like Hilary Moore. When we first began working with her, our horses had been off work--one for over a year, the other for nearly six months. Hilary's calm and consistent attention to our geldings brought them back into the swing of things within weeks. Then, our riding lessons began.

Hilary's expertise and experience is evident in not only her attention to the tiniest details for both rider and horse, but also in her understanding of the "big picture" for each individual rider's goals, weaknesses, and strengths. She's enthusiastic, supportive, and professional; and she's opened up a new world of Dressage for us, after having been involved in hunter-jumper activities for the last four years. Because of Hilary we are now moving forward in our lives with our horses. The change is significant and exciting; and we couldn't be more pleased."

Just a few weeks ago, I spotted a blog post on Dressage Today titled, Perfect Enough. I laughed when I read Hilary’s take on how perfect we dressage riders oftentimes try to be. At least for me, she nailed it. She described how I want to be most of the time and she reminded me of how important it is to focus on finishing my rides feeling content that my horse and I don’t need to be perfect every day, but we can be “perfect enough”. A simple,
As for me, this year I have a new goal while I somehow try to piece together Fourth Level. I will say to myself before each ride “Today is the perfect day to ride perfect enough.”

Feedback about Hilary's Dressage Today blog:
"Who would think a Mongolian sushi chef would become a new friend in a dressage clinic blog? Discovering that he is an expert equestrian as a little kid, racing in ultra marathons is even more amazing. Sharing Hilary's experiences in dressage takes you into some unusual places. Whether she is writing about the process of absorbing the knowledge needed to be a judge or the larger part of becoming a leader and ambassador of the sport, she gives you the chance to feel part of it. Well written and focused, this blog is a joy to read."
